Why I Left Elite Model Look Ireland

On Friday I was contacted by the Irish Mail on Sunday, who were writing an in-depth article looking into the Elite Model Look Ireland competition.  There has been a lot of speculation about why I left, both in my real life and on the internet.  What people are saying is mostly untrue or made up.  People love drama and gossip, I guess.  I truthfully don't...but I felt it was only fair to all of you and especially the young girls who may be thinking of getting involved in this competition to know the truth.  I'm not going to write anything about it here, but if you want to know the full story behind why I left, you can read it in the article here.  I was NOT paid for my interview - I did this purely because I was asked to and to set the record straight.

Lots of love,
xoxo

What you are doing should be commended! Its no wonder there are so many girls with eating issues out there. Keep up the good work!

  2. I think its fantastic that you chose to take a stand. You're only one person, but if your actions get someone else thinking then gradually change will happen.

  3. Hey Anna,

I just want to say I REALLY admire you for standing up for what you believe in like that. It really must have taken guts because essentially it was your profession image on the line-it makes me respect you even more! You're a real inspiration

Oh yeah and i love that you're an Irish youtuber :)

  5. WOW. that is really something to be proud of, to be able to stand up to such a large organization like that, especially for the sake of ordinary people. i totally agree that measurements and weighing are unavoidable in the industry (i'm a model myself) but doing them in a public place and by men is really humiliating. good for you! for standing up for people who are vulnerable and don't have to opportunity or chance to do what you did=)

  7. I know this is old news now, but I just read the article. It was a great thing that you did by sticking to your beliefs and values about womens body image and distancing yourself from that. Certainly, they crossed their own rules, and even though they say he didn't know, they can't use ignorance as an excuse. But I suppose they have to cover their butts somehow. But, good for you Anna! :)
