Back to School Make-Up

Today I filmed a tutorial for a back to school make-up look (which I will upload to my channel sometime next week).  I opted for a very natural, fresh make-up which is appropriate for school, daytime and young teens.

My Tips for Back to School Make-Up
1. Use a light, natural-looking foundation or tinted moisturiser.  Young skin doesn't need a lot (if any) foundation anyway, so skip the cakey full-coverage look.
2. Pick one eye-shadow.  You won't have time every morning to do complicated eye-looks with lots of different colours and it's just not practical for school.  Just pick one neutral eye-shadow with a bit of shimmer for a pretty fresh look.
3. Don't overdo it with the eye-liner.  Again, it's too time-consuming for everyday make-up and you don't want to look older than you are!
4. Skip the bronzer.  There's no need to contour and mess around with highlights, bronzers etc.  Stick to a light, pretty blush on the apples of your cheeks for a fresh, wide-awake look.

How I Achieved This Look
Foundation: Benefit Playsticks in Spin the Bottle
Concealer: Benefit Erase Paste (under the eyes) and Benefit Boi-ing
Blush: Maybelline Dream Mousse in 07 Peach Satin on the apples of the cheeks.
Eyeshadow: Kiko Eyeshadow in #80 all over the lids (a shimmery champagne colour).
Eyeliner: Impala Waterproof Eye Pencil along the upper and lower waterline.
Mascara: Maybelline Pulse Perfection (one coat).
Lipgloss: Maybelline Watershine Gloss in Crystal Rocks (natural peach colour).

I hope this helps you guys that are going back to school in September!  You can watch the video tutorial here.  Let me know what you think of this look.  And stay tuned for Back to School Fashion!  I got all the rest of my clothes and shoes from Dublin today so I can finally get back to doing more fashion videos!

Stay Stylish!

  3. Very nice simple look, Anna!
Maybe a little bit more blush would be nice. (Although I guess the flash "ate" some of your blush ;-))
I do line the inside of the eyes a LOT instead of eyeliner as it's so quick!
Still I really love your other more dramatic look with the liquid eyeliner and bronzer and stuff. Fits your personality perfectly.
Please keep doing the blog-posts, I enjoy them very much!
