Sexy Date Night Makeup!

It's safe to say that on Mondays I generally feel like a total freak.  I usually film a makeup tutorial, and while they're not always very dramatic, sometimes when you're wearing very casual sweats and walking your dogs it's just a little much.  People tend to give me weird looks especially since I film so early in the morning so by about 10am I'm already in pretty heavy makeup.  Delightful!

Anyhow, something kind of interesting happened to me today.  After filming this look (it's the makeup many of you guys requested to see from Saturday night), I went shopping with my mom.  While buying fabric in Hickey's the lady at the checkout asked me how I did my eyeliner.  She was so sweet, and she genuinely didn't have a clue how to even begin...she told me she was going to a wedding and wanted to know how to achieve my look.  She asked me what products I had used and how to get the little "wing" and I was more than happy to help her out.  But all the while I'm explaining in detail how to master the art of "the flick", a little voice in the back of my head is saying "ooooor you could just tell her to watch the video............"

Little voice had a point.  I had, after all JUST filmed a step by step tutorial on how to achieve that look.  But I couldn't do it, I just could not bring myself to self-promote like that it just feels so weird!  What do you say?  "Oh, well ACTUALLY I just spent the last 2 hours preparing and filming a video tutorial all about my makeup!"  Um, no.  That just sounds insane.  So I didn't say anything, even though I felt awful when I saw her scribbling all the products I mentioned down on a little scrap of paper.  "YOU CAN JUST WATCH THE VIDEO!!!!!!"  <-- shh, little voice.

Watch the video here!

Getting back to the point of this blog post, here are the products used to achieve this look.

FACE:
Maybelline 24hr SuperStay Concealer in Light
FYF Impeccable Mineral Loose Powder in Medium
FYF Flawless Foundation Stick in Cashmere (as a contour)
FYF Blossom Floral Blush in Autumn
Benefit 10 Blush (highlight shade on cheekbones)

EYES:
MAC Prep+Prime in Medium
FYF Eyeshadow in Bronze Goddess
Maybelline Line Definer
Impala Waterproof Kohl Pencil
CoverGirl LashBlast Volume

LIPS:
Davis accent lip liner (nude pink)
FYF Dewdrop Lipstick in Coy

I actually really love Flawless You Forever cosmetics.  The mineral foundation has become my favourite foundation to date, and the lipsticks are extremely creamy and moisturising.  The floral blushes are amazing, super pigmented and really pretty to look at!  I can't find fault with any of the products sent to me, except that I find the lipglosses aren't as long-lasting as I would like.  You can check out their website with more information on all the products I mentioned here.

Watch today's vlog here! :)

Stay Stylish!
xoxo

Disclaimer: FYF cosmetics were kindly sent to me for consideration to review.  I was not compensated by nor am I affiliated in anyway with the company.  My 100% honest opinion, as always :)

  4. I know it feels really wierd to promote yourself. Next time, explain to her just a bit but then say you know I don't know why I am trying to show you here...I just filmed a tutorial on how to do this look which will really give you step by step instruction and also list all the make up I used. Then tell them about your channel. Just smile your pretty smile and say then you can refer to it again if you need too! Don't be afraid just try here and there...you will get use to it. Just drop it casually as if you were already to talking to someone you know.....So...Really pretty make up Anna! Really does look flawless! I think I will have to shop for the eye shadow and the lipstick...!

lol, I know what do you mean, every time people stare at my fishtail braid & keep asking me how did I do it, instead of trying to explain & show & just want to recommend them to watch my hair tutorial video...lol

  7. Wow, really pretty evening look! I'm excited to watch the video and try it out by myself! :-)

I know exactly what you mean about the self-promotion thing, you are soooo sweet thinking like that! But I'm sure she would have been so happy to get some step by step instructions and maybe when you see her again in the next days you could give her a little hint to your amazing videos which have to be shared by every single woman on earth! ;-)

  10. You should've told her about the video because it would be easier than scribbling down products and technique. Plus, you'd have a new subscriber!

  12. You're so beautiful. And I really like your make-up. But I don't like that you paint so much over the edge of your lips.
The beautiful shape of your lips gets lost.
