Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey!

This morning I woke up in a panic, having just had the most horrible nightmare...I dreamed that a huge nasty old crow was trying to snatch/eat Albi & Sina while they were in my mom's garden!  And then, like that wasn't bad enough I had a new boyfriend/husband called Lindsey.  He was a travelling salesman and wore a suit.  What in the world?!  My dreams are always very vivid...and very very strange.  Just thought I'd share one of them with you.  Is Lindsey a man's name?

Anyhow at about 11.00 my mom asked me if I wanted to go for brunch in Liberty Grill (this is after having devoured a big bowl of porridge for breakfast...hahaha!) and of course I accepted, and all was right again in the world.  Although later on a crow did randomly decide to perch on my bedroom windowsill and peer in at me which may or may not have caused me to have a mini melt-down.  Moving on...

I got Eggs Florentine for brunch let's just call it lunch, shall we?  ;)  This was the first time I have had any of these "egg" dishes (eggs Benedict/Florentine, etc.)  The only egg dish I've really ever had is Uova in Purgatorio (Eggs in Purgatory) and holy mascarpone, is that one of my all-time favourite most delicious dishes ever.  My dad used to make it, it's divine.  It basically consists of fried eggs, onion, pepper, salt and tomato sauce.  I haven't had it in forever...when I do eat it again I may even cry tears of joy.  That's how good it is!  Well Eggs Florentine is pretty good too, and Liberty Grill is one of my favourite places to eat in Cork.  Don't mind the creepy old lady sprouting from my hair in the picture.

Hope you all had a good Tuesday!  And that you didn't have any scary nightmares about crows :(

Stay Stylish!
xoxo

  2. hehe she wanted to be in the photo. Hmm, Eggs in Purgatory sounds good. I never would think to put eggs with tomato sauce, but there's a recipe I posted last week from Giada de Laurentiis (famous US/Italian cook) that I love. I noticed she has a recipe for what you are describing also (but with mashed potatoes too?), I will have to try it! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/eggs-in-purgatory-recipe/index.html

  3. omg! I am beyond paranoid of crows getting my cat while she's in the backyard. She's an indoor kitty but we let her hang out in the yard and I fear that they will suspect she's not an experienced outdoor cat and will just snatch her up and fly away. Just the thought of it makes my stomach churn! But can you say crazy omen??? That crow coming to your windowsill and staring. Beyond creepy. It's like they knew...

  10. I've never dreamt of crows before, but reading about your nightmare makes me wonder what I'm going to dream tonight- after watching a documentary on Jack the Ripper and chasing a huge spider in my room later... :-/
