Ask Anna: Boyfriends!

Today I had a special guest join me for my Ask Anna video -- my husband Jonathan!  We answered a viewer's question about boyfriends, how we met and feeling nervous on the first date.  It was really fun to reminisce about back when we first met (which is FIVE years ago this year...crazy!!) and just to realise how far we've come since then!  Now we are married (twice, ha ha!) and have a baby on the way...it seems so surreal!

Here are some pictures from our "earlier days".  The first one was taken in June 2007 which was our first month together...aww!

December of that year -- Jonathan had just bought my family & me a kitten!

One year later, we had moved to the UK together for college!

So those are some "vintage" Anna and Jofus pics...ha ha ha!  Waaay before the daily vlogs, blogging, YouTube channels or anything like that :)  Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane!  If you want to watch the video, click here!

OOTD: Spring Stripes!

Tank top/LoveClothing, Hello!Skinny Jeans/The White Door, Gladiator Sandals/New Look, Bracelets/Gift, Earrings/Bijoux Brigitte

Today was another beautiful & sunny day!  It really is like summer in the spring -- I wonder how long it will last.  All I know is that we are going to make the most of it :)  We have been eating outside any chance we get and taking Albi & Sina for walks (although they are shorter now because poor little Sina Socks gets tired a lot quicker).

I received my monthly LoveClothing haul yesterday (you can watch it here!) and this blue & white tank top was one of my favourite picks.  It's super comfortable and stretchy, plus it's long enough to cover my bump band and it's stripy!  Yay!  I just love stripes for spring -- I got so many stripy things it's not even funny!  The brand is Vero Moda, I got it in a size 6 and it's only £9 on the website right now.  It was so warm here today, this is exactly what I wore -- I didn't need to put on a cardigan until about 5 o'clock when we came inside.

OOTD: Spring Heatwave!

Tank top/Primark, Cardigan/ApartStyle, Pants/ASOS, Shoes/Zara, Scarf/Accessorize, Earrings/Forever21, Bracelet/Gift

I cannot believe the fabulous weather that we're having here in Ireland lately -- after taking these outfit pictures I was actually too hot, so I took off the cardigan and swapped the flats for gladiator sandals...is this really March?!  I love it!  We had the most amazing day spent out in sun...Sina is ready to pop anyday now but she's still going out for walkies even though she's a lot slower than usual, aww :)

Jonathan also built Sina a little whelping bed...so now we just have to wait and see!  I think I'm more anxious about her labour than mine, because I see her as my baby but the vet says she will be fine and that she's super healthy & everything's normal.  I will let you guys know when she has her babies!  In the meantime, we're enjoying the sunshine as we know it's probably not going to last!

Spring Makeup Trend: Bright Colours!

I've been so inspired by the beautiful sunny weather lately that I decided to brighten things up with my makeup look today!  I'm wearing two colours that are really "in" for spring and summer, tangerine orange and hot pink.  Woot!  I actually love how they look, they are surprisingly wearable colours and go extremely well with bronzey, sunkissed skin.  (In reality my skin is far from sunkissed but we faked it with lots of bronzer & shimmery delights ;)

I am using the new Spring/Summer palette (£25) from Sarah G Cosmetics -- these shades are so gorgeous and super pigmented, yay!

The palette comes complete with a matte bronzer, warm hot pink blush and four eyeshadows (all shimmery): a champagne colour, vibrant tangerine/orange, hot sparkly pink and bronze/brown.  So versatile and gorgeous!  You could do a million things with this little palette.

Also a part of her new collection is this shimmering Face & Body Glo (£15).  A little bit of this goes a long way!  I have a feeling this will be my staple for summer, as it gives your skin a beautiful bronzey glow without looking oily or shiny.

And here is the lip pout in Crystal Pink -- I did not expect to like this much pink on my face but I really do!  This is the perfect shade of pink which isn't too loud but gives just the right hint of colour.  I also like that it's in a little pot like a lip balm, but it applies like a gloss.

I also matched my makeup to my scarf!  Ha ha ha...  Even though I'm a huge fan of black and it plays such a big part in my wardrobe, I've been really turned off by it lately and I find myself veering towards the lighter/brighter colours.  This pashmina was a gift from my brother when I was about 16 and it has different shades of pink and orange in it.  It went perfectly with this makeup look!

Here's a breakdown of what I'm wearing on my face/eyes/lips -- makeup tutorial will follow shortly!

FACE:
The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver (primer)
MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Medium
Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Concealer in 02
Benefit Get Even Powder in 02
Sarah G Cosmetics matte bronzer (from the palette) as a contour
Sarah G Cosmetics hot pink blush (from palette)
Sarah G Cosmetics Face & Body Glo in Golden Patina

EYES:
MAC Prep + Prime for Eyes
Sarah G Cosmetics palette -- champagne on brow bone & inner corners
tangerine on lid and middle of lower lashline
hot pink in and a little bit above crease
bronze/brown in outer v and outer corners of lower lashline
Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner pen in black (upper lashline)
Impala waterproof eye pencil in black (waterline)
Sarah G Cosmetics mascara in black

LIPS:
Sarah G Cosmetics Lip Pout in Crystal Pink

And here's what the makeup looks like from farther away.  I hope you like it!  What's your favourite spring/summer makeup trend?

Week 17 Bump Update!

How far along? 17 weeks!  I definitely feel like I've popped this week.  My bump is rounding nicely :)
Total weight gain: 8lbs!  I weighed in at 125lbs this morning -- which is 2lbs up from last week!  I am still right on track according to this tracker, yay! :)  My measurements are still the same though, waist: 27" and tummy: 33 1/2".
Maternity clothes? No clothes yet, but I did purchase a DreamGenii Pillow to help me sleep better at night.  It's amazing and has definitely made a difference (even if it was ridiculously expensive...ugh).  Here's a picture of it on my bed:

You basically straddle the end bit and sleep on the flat middle part while the back bit supports your back (that's actually REALLY comfortable!).  Jonathan says it's his "replacement", ha ha ha poor guy...
Stretch marks? None yet.  This week I've been using a combination of different products.  I received this Dream Belly Butter from Fairhaven Health and I absolutely love it for night-time.  It's very thick and moisturising and the scent reminds me of those little bath shapes that you pop and the gel comes out?!  Ha ha ha :)  It's all natural and is both a stretch mark repair and prevention cream.  It's on sale right now on the Fairhaven website for $14.95 if you're interested!

With the belly butter I also got these cool little pregnancy guides -- at first when I saw them I was totally confused as to how they work but now that I've figured it out I can't stop looking at them!

The top one is configured to Pancoga's due date, so each week you can see exactly what date the weeks change, how big the baby is and how much he/she weighs.  So cool!  These are available for $6.95 from the website.
Sleep: The DreamGenii pillow has definitely helped these last few nights...although the leg cramping still happens when I'm on my left-hand side for too long.  But I have found that some light stretching seems to work first thing in the morning.
Best moment this week: Hmm...getting my pillow?!  Ha ha ha...I don't know, I hate this question!
Miss anything? No...I don't miss anything!
Movement: Still nothing :(  I've read you're supposed to start feeling the baby from this week on...I really hope that happens soon!
Food cravings: Still very boring in the cravings department -- I don't have any really crazy ones!  Although I do tend to love snacking on Fruit & Fibre cereal a lot...I guess that's a good thing because it's one of the healthier ones!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Shrimp, also I don't like coffee again.
Gender: We find out in one week!  Excited!!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Cramping/stomach pains -- this happened two mornings in a row after I had drunk A LOT of water right before bed.  I realised after the second time that this was probably the reason and it went away as soon as I stopped drinking that much.  Now I'm trying to drink more often throughout the day rather than a huge amount in one sitting!  My boobs have stopped hurting so much!!  They're definitely still growing though, I will have to get a maternity bra soon.  My acne has remained the same...still waiting for that beautiful glowing skin everybody talks about, ha ha ha!  On the plus side, my hair and nails are growing fast & strong so that's good :)
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, happy, happy but I still need to eat every 3 hours, like clockwork!
Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment this week (is it weird that I look forward to those?!  I really like my doctor :), and also Sina's vet appointment when we will hopefully find out how many pups she's having!

I was also fortunate enough to receive a box from My Beauty Bundle, which is a monthly subscription service much like other beauty boxes you may have heard of however this one has a unique twist:  it's for mommy & baby!  I was so excited when I heard about this idea, I think it's so cute.  Every month they send you products that relate to whatever stage you're at in your pregnancy.  The further along you are, the more "for baby" items you get.  It's really sweet!  Here's what I got in mine this month.  (I am four months pregnant.)

60ml Bio-Oil bottle, perfect for travelling!

VitalTouch Natalia Prenatal Instant Revitaliser -- rub this on your wrists & behind your ears for a refreshing geranium and citrus scent!
Lavera Rose Garden Bath Sea Salts -- I think this is a German brand?  I remember it from when I lived in Germany :)
Primavera Protective Lotion -- love the packaging of this!

You can order My Beauty Bundle here for £15 a month (incl. shipping) if you're interested. I think it's a lovely idea, even as a gift for someone you know that's currently pregnant!

Beach Day 2012!

We were pretty blessed with surprisingly nice weather this weekend, so Jonathan and I decided to treat the pups to a little trip to the beach!  This was actually our first time at the beach this year, and although it was still freezing we had a lot of fun!  Albi & Sina even dug their first hole in the sand...aww!

Fixing my bump band -- ha ha ha!

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend, and if it's sunny where you are don't forget to go out & make the most of it! :)

OOTD: Spring Trends Inspired!

Top/LoveClothing, Hello!Skinny Jeans/The White Door, Shoes/New Look, Hair Flower/Layniebug Designs, Necklace/Gift from my dad

I was feeling very spring-like today (even though as I write this it's currently bucketing rain :(  Yuck!) and I actually had planned to film a spring trends video, until I realised that hardly any of the outfits I picked out actually fit me anymore...ha ha ha!  So that was that -- but luckily thanks to my bump bands this one actually worked out well.  The nautical trend is always a no-brainer for spring but stripes are very "in" this season as is the floral trend (which you'll see I'm totally sporting in my hair ;)

And now for a sneak peek of the bump...these jeans are wide open right now, ha ha ha!

What's your favourite spring trend?

March Glossybox: The Harrods Edition!

This month's Glossybox was the highly anticipated Harrods Edition, and it did not disappoint!  I loved the classic white box and green ribbon, I was very careful not to ruin any of the presentation so that I could snap a picture and show you guys how pretty it all looked, ha ha ha!

With the March box, I received five items:

Fendi Fan di Fendi Eau de Toilette
Ojon Damage Reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum
Erno Laszlo The Hollywood Collection 5 Sachets
Burberry Beauty Miniature Lip Cover in Rosewood
Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream

I was especially happy with the Ojon serum, being that my hair is very long, dry and often needs added moisture.  I had also heard very good things about Ojon, though I'd never tried any of their products before.

I was also impressed with the Fan di Fendi perfume sample, as it came in an adorable little mini bottle which will look so cute on my vanity!  The scent is very floral and light, exactly the kind of thing I like to wear.

Probably my least favourite was the Erno Laszlo Hollywood Collection skincare samples.  You do get a lot of different products to try, but I probably would have preferred just one (bigger) sample instead of five little ones.  However I'm looking forward to trying these out and am curious to see how they work for my skin!

My second favourite product was definitely the Burberry miniature lipstick -- how cute is this?!  I'm not sure if this picture really shows the scale of just how tiny it is, but you can watch the video to see more clearly.  At first I did think this shade was too dark but it is actually a very pretty brownish nude.

And what kind of a blog post would this be without a picture of my precious little Sina Socks :)  She's really enjoying my fluffy pink rug, especially now that she likes to lie down all the time with her big ol' belly full of pups!

If you are interested in subscribing to Glossybox for £12.95 a month (incl. shipping) you can do so on their website
