What I Ate Wednesday

Breakfast
Flahavan's Hi8 muesli with light soy milk! Sorry I didn't do the week's dinners post after all...the problem was that my photos kept getting deleted. Because we daily vlog and Jonathan & I each have our own card, he wipes everything every night before bed so we never run out of memory. If I do this next week I need to remember to take all my pictures off the card BEFORE the end of the night!

Lunch
We had lunch at O'Brien's which is an Irish sandwich chain (it actually doesn't really exist anymore but they still use the name). I almost always get the same thing - it's called the Italian Toasted Shambo. Shambo = because the bread is in the shape of a shamrock! This one is made with mozzarella, semi-sundried tomatoes, basil pesto & mixed leaves. Jonathan always eats my crisps :)

Dinner
While editing these photos I can't tell you how hard I laugh at ALL my dinner pics. No matter what I do, they always look revolting. I don't know is it the lighting or what...but seriously?! Jonathan said it looks like something/someone who's just been slaughtered lying out on an operating table. And this was the best of a bad bunch - just be glad you don't have to see the others!! Anyway, I promise it tasted much better than it looks. Tonight was fajita night & we had chicken corn fajitas with sweet peppers. I had two of these babies, rolled up (the pictures looked like dead bodies rolled up in blankets...I kid you not!).

Dessert
I had a major salt craving, so a lovely bowl of Pringles (original flavour of course) did the trick!

To drink throughout the whole day I just had plain old water, 2 Spatone iron supplements & about 4 Rennie tablets for heartburn :( This is also why I tend not to snack anymore between lunch & dinner...the heartburn is such a killer!

Mommy Monday: Baby Boy Haul!

I've finally decided to share a few of my baby buys that I've purchased over the last while for little "Junior". I was a bit hesitant at first and wanted to wait until I was further into my pregnancy...I am a little superstitious!

As you can tell, I love grey & navy blue on boys :) All of the clothing items were bought on sale from Zara Baby. I bought everything in size 1-3 months.

This little blue & grey striped set is so cute! I love tiny sweatpants on baby boys.

I love this warm knit grey & cream babygro. The hat is for age 1-6 months and I think this is actually for girls as well!

This is one of my favourites. A little polo shirt onesie!

This striped one is so soft!

I got these tiny grey leggings/sweatpants for underneath the two onesies.

These 100% cotton muslin cloths come in a pack of three - I'm a big fan of stars (especially grey) for little boys...I think they're so cute!

That's all for now. I also have a few items that were gifted to me from family & friends which I haven't shown yet. You will probably see them on him when he arrives! Watch my video on this haul below!

30 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #2

Sorry this is so late, I was supposed to put it up yesterday but Emilia is very sick so I've been spending all my time looking after her. Poor thing :(

How far along? 30 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain/measurements: 27lbs!
Maternity clothes: My jumper is not maternity (Heatons, a few years ago) but my leggings and tank top are by Kate Thomas Maternity and I love them. They are sooo comfortable! Last pregnancy I was all about skinny jeans & maxi dresses (summer pregnancy) but this time it's leggings all the way!
Stretch marks? Still no new ones.
Sleep: Getting more & more uncomfortable, the bigger I get the harder it is to get a good night's sleep!
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby on the ultrasound at our doctor's appointment :)
Miss anything? I definitely miss feeling "normal", especially right now at this last stage of the pregnancy. I think it's mainly because running around and picking up after a toddler is tough & now that Emilia is sick it's even harder...so I wish I had my full energy, could bend over easily, that kind of thing! But I know it it will all be worth it in the end!
Movement: Loads.
Food cravings: Grapes! And ham & cheese sandwiches.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not right now, Jonathan & I both caught a cough/slight cold but it's nothing major.
Gender: BOY!
Labour signs: Nope!
Symptoms: My blood pressure is still low, the heartburn is back in full swing (boo!) and I found a haemorrhoid!!! :( I was lucky enough not to get any last time and I actually started crying when I found out! Fortunately it only hurt for a day or so before clearing up on its own but...yeah, I don't want to experience that again! On the plus side, I haven't shaved my legs in months and they are silky smooth & hair free! Not all things about pregnancy are bad ;)
Belly button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? On - I've been really lucky so far in both pregnancies to never have any swelling.
Happy or moody most of the time? A bit of both!
Looking forward to: Emilia's new bed coming and decorating the baby's nursery!

What I Ate Wednesday: My Lunches for the Week

For today's What I Ate Wednesday I wanted to do something different and show you guys what I ate for lunch everyday this week! I started this on Friday, so here's what I ate Friday through Wednesday (today).

Friday
We ate at Table restaurant in Brown Thomas as we were in town. I had the winter salad, which consisted of chorizo, butternut squash, artichoke, rocket and balsamic vinaigrette.  This was good but quite light, I usually would eat more but we were going out for dinner that night so I wanted something small. When I'm not pregnant I always get their goat's cheese salad which is delicious too!

Saturday
Toasted ham & cheese panino with cherry tomatoes on the side (otherwise they explode everywhere if I put them in the sandwich!). I grilled this in the oven & used fully mature cheddar and crumbed ham. The bread is by Panelto. Emilia loves this lunch too!

My picture from Sunday got deleted by accident :( But I had a chicken salad panino with the same bread, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, chicken & light mayo.

Monday
We ate at M&S as we had brought Emilia to a kids' play area/ball pit next door to that. I had a mixed sandwich on multi-seed bread. Basically this consists of 4 different fillings in one sandwich, chicken salad, ham & cheese, prawns & egg mayonnaise. I like this one because you get more variety than just one boring sandwich!

Tuesday
We had a doctor's appointment at 12pm so on the way home we stopped by Subway! I got the Subway Melt which consists of a 6" sub with ham, turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce & cucumber. I don't add any sauce to it and get it on Italian bread.

Wednesday
Toasted tuna panino with cucumber, light mayo and cherry tomatoes. Again, this is with the Panelto bread. As you can tell we are liking panini right now :)

Those were my lunches for the week! Let me know if you liked this post and if you did I will try and do more of these when I can. I was thinking of doing a week of what I ate for dinner next...I won't be doing breakfast though as that's pretty much the same everyday so that would be a very boring post!!

Style Saturday: Cupcake Princess!

Today Emilia was invited to her very first birthday party (aside from her own!) and this is what she wore. Her skirt is actually age 6-9 months but only just fits her now. It is from Boots Mini Club Bows & Arrows range. (Bought in September 2012, I don't think it's available anymore...sorry!) I love the pretty tulle underskirt & the deep turquoise colour! Her top is a onesie which was part of a set from Carters. The tights are from Boots Mini Club and the headband/bow are by Layniebug Designs.

As I've mentioned before on our daily vlogs, Emilia will soon be moving bedrooms. I am planning on moving her out of the nursery and into the cupcake room as I don't want her to associate the arrival of her baby brother with being "pushed out" of her old bedroom. At the moment the cupcake room is where I film most of my videos & store all my makeup. Emilia LOVES it so much...she is constantly running in there to look at all the twinkly lights & dinky ornaments or pull out all of my nail polishes & makeup :) It's so cute. However today she took it a step further and climbed into the bed, snuggled up under the blankets and refused to get out! I am taking this as a very good sign...I think she is definitely ready. Of course I'm a bit nervous about how she will take the first few nights but seeing as she transitioned from our bed to her crib so easily at 8 months I'm not too worried. She has a pretty solid bedtime routine set in place which won't change so that should help (I hope!). This bed is not staying though...it's too big and high up for her right now. We are buying her a single, lower, wooden white bed which has safety rails.

I am so excited for her to move into her new room and also to start decorating the nursery for our baby boy!

Fashion Friday: Say Cheese!

Today I wore the my new soft pink Maje top I got for Christmas. It's not maternity and although it is loose-fitting and very comfortable, unfortunately it does ride up a bit in the front especially as the bump gets a lot bigger! So I'm not sure how much longer I'll get out of it but at least I can wear it after giving birth too :) I wore it with my blue ASOS Maternity jeans and brown leather Timeless chelsea boots. I have another nude/beige pair that would have looked better but at this stage in my pregnancy I just can't wear heels anymore! :( They totally throw my balance off and I can't walk in them...how sad!

I accessorised with my Alex+Ani gold bracelets (I have my topaz birthstone one and the set of 3 bangles), Accessorize studs & my gold Scorpio necklace.

Of course it's still cold outside so I also wore my navy blue Zara coat (non maternity - size medium) and wool camel Moschino scarf.

How cute is Emilia's face in these photos?! I asked her to stand in one spot and "say cheese!" Imagine my surprise when she actually performed on cue! Complete with a little model pose and all...what a professional, ha ha! Her outfit is all from Zara Baby again. The leggings are from their basics range in grey and the fluffy cat sweater is also by Zara but I couldn't find it online. Her shoes are from Clarks and the headband is by The Children's Place.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I will be back tomorrow with a fashion haul :)

Throwback Thursday: My 21st Birthday!

This week's throwback is from November 3rd 2008 - my 21st birthday! Jonathan and I were living in Bournemouth, UK at the time in a tiny flat...I was studying Fashion and he Interactive Media. My sister Emma came to visit us for my birthday and we had a few friends over from college. We bought all the party food from Iceland and the entertainment for the night was Jonathan's breakdancing...ha ha ha! This was pre dogs or kids (obviously) but I would scour the internet for pictures of cute puppies and beg Jonathan on a daily basis for a dog :) We bought Albi the following August. My dad turned 70 the day after my birthday, but unfortunately he passed away one month later :( This was a difficult birthday for me as it was the first one I celebrated without my family.

What I Ate Wednesday {Times Two}

This week's what I ate is actually a double post, as I took photos yesterday then forgot to do dessert and started again today...but I decided it might be interesting to post both days' eats even if I did leave out a meal! So here they are:

{TUESDAY}

Breakfast
Porridge (Flahavan's Organic Quick Oats) with light soy milk, 1/2 banana, blueberries & cinnamon. 1 pint of water with Spatone. Emilia had the same except with whole milk, no cinnamon and some honey. Oh, and she looked a lot cuter than me while eating it too! Poor thing scratched her face in the night with her nail :(

Lunch
We had Subway for lunch and I got the same as always - a 6" tuna sub with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese & cucumber! My mouth is watering now just looking at this picture...a new Subway just opened up in our area and we are obsessed!

Dinner
We made pasta with meatballs (I am trying to eat more red meat!). This is my favourite sauce, we mix organic tomato & chilli sauce with Philadelphia cheese and it is so yummy! Sprinkle with some parmesan & you're done :)

After dinner I had some Pringles (the original flavour)...forgot to take a picture, sorry!

{WEDNESDAY}

Breakfast
Emilia & I ate at my mom's house - we both had maple & pecan porridge with whole milk. I also had a cup of coffee (black) and a pint of water before we left the house this morning with Spatone.

Lunch
Chicken & veggie soup (Cully & Sully) with 1/2 a Panelto panino. This soup gives me heartburn unfortunately but I love it and hadn't had it for ages so I caved today! I also drank another pint of water after lunch.

Dinner
For dinner I made sweet & sour chicken with lots of veggies (sweetcorn, mushrooms, carrots, beans & onions) and rice. Another pint of water...I always aim for 4 and usually end up drinking about 3 a day.

Dessert
I didn't forget this time ;) Nespresso Caramelito latte made with whole milk and two Cadbury's mini rolls...yum!

Hope you enjoyed this double post! Feel free to link up your WIAW in the comments below!

29 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #2!

Happy 29 weeks to me! I'm now in week 30 and out of the twenties...ahh! It's time to get ready!

How far along? 29 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/measurements: 25lbs!
Maternity clothes: All the items in this outfit are maternity except for the tank top which you can't really see anyway. It's just a basic black one from Heatons which was always quite big/long on me so it stretches out nicely! The jeans are ASOS Maternity as is the cardigan (even though technically I don't think cardigans are ever really maternity!). I actually ordered more items as I'm running out of clothes that fit and I'm getting bored of wearing the same 5 outfits over & over again!
Stretch marks? Still no new ones. I'm still using ESPA Nourishing Body Oil but have been mixing it in with their Smooth and Firm Body Butter as well. These products are AMAZING!
Sleep: I can't complain, although I have started sleeping with a pillow between my legs for comfort.
Best moment this week: It seems so long ago now but my trip to the spa last week was wonderful! I got a prenatal massage & pedicure and it was so worth it.
Miss anything? Same as last week - not having to worry about whether something I eat is going to give me heartburn or not!
Movement: Loads.
Food cravings: Cucumber & feta cheese (together). So weird!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Yes, but I can never put my finger on it. My stomach is just very sensitive this pregnancy.
Gender: BOY!
Labour signs: Nope!
Symptoms: This week I had a lot of abdominal cramps which my doctor has told me are nothing to worry about, in fact he said it's probably Braxton Hicks contractions. I had been noticing that they were coming in waves, however they were not regular enough to be real contractions! I still get heartburn especially right in the middle of the day around after I have lunch but thankfully it's not as bad as it was before (keeping me up at night and all that!). When my doctor took my blood pressure at my appointment this week he asked me whether I was feeling faint or light-headed as it was very low. Again, not anything to worry about but just something to be aware of. This has been pretty normal for me throughout my whole pregnancy though!
Belly button in or out? Out :)
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time? I am normally very happy but I definitely cry...a lot! Last night we were watching Episodes and I started crying when Matt LeBlanc's character was being told he needed to get help...FYI this is a funny show, not a tearjerker at all. And Matt LeBlanc is hilarious at playing himself...so think about how I react when watching REALLY sad bits in movies like About Time. I almost needed counselling after seeing that film!!
Looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment/ultrasound when I get to see the baby. I still can't believe it's a boy!

Fashion Friday: Winter White

Emilia and I actually colour coordinated our outfits yesterday and both wore grey & white! I am wearing one of the jumpers my mom gave me for Christmas, this is the Varsity Vhari Stripe Jumper in Light Grey/Winter White from French Connection. I am in love with it! This is a size small but it is huge & very over-sized, both in width & length. I am 5'4" and it completely covers my bum...without a bump I would say it would come to mid-thigh. I wear this with leggings too which is super comfy! My jeans are from ASOS Maternity and I'm also wearing my new UGGs boots (they are the Bailey Button Bling in Grey).

My necklace is from Swarovski, the bracelet is Tiffany's and my earrings are from Silver Apple Designs. On my lips is Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick & on my nails is OPI "In the Cable Car Pool Lane".

It has become difficult to manage to snap a picture of Emilia when she's actually standing still...in fact, it's pretty near impossible! So many of the ones I took were blurry - she is like a little fire cracker and just won't stop moving! But this outfit was just too cute not to share! Her top and leggings are from Zara (could only find the link to the leggings), her shoes are from Clarks and her bow/headband is by Layniebug Designs.

Hope you're all having a fantastic Friday! Here's to a great weekend :)

Throwback Thursday: Young Love

How crazy young/different do Jonathan & I both look in this picture?! This was taken in the summer of 2007 when we first started seeing each other. I was 19, he was 27! And that's my scarf he is wearing...ha ha :) I don't know why neither of us are smiling in this picture, in fact I think Jonathan was just testing out his new camera! This was taken in his tiny box-room that he was renting while in college. Ahh, those were the days!

What I Ate Wednesday

Breakfast
Flahavan's Hi8 muesli with light soy milk (we were out of almond), 1/2 a banana and a pint of water with Spatone (iron supplement).

Little miss heard me snapping pictures of my breakfast and I heard her saying "cheeeeese!" Ha ha ha! So I couldn't help but take some of her too. For breakfast Emilia had a banana with peanut butter and some orange juice (always diluted with water). She's on a banana kick lately but hasn't been liking cereal. She goes through funny little phases all the time!

Lunch
Chargrilled chicken pasta salad with pine nuts from Centra - it comes with baby spinach and a few more baby tomatoes than pictured here (I got hungry...sorry!). This is both light & filling at the same time with only 351 calories, not to mention the fact that I just love pasta salad...I could eat it everyday!

Dinner
Jonathan made chicken chow mein with gluten free noodles, sweet peppers & a rather strange addition - peas! Emilia loves peas (and sweetcorn) so we have started adding them to everything! Once again I apologise for my crappy photo taking skills...I'm no food blogger that's for sure! No matter what I do, dinner always ends up looking like a heap of slop...ha ha! But I promise it tasted better than it looks!

Dessert
Now here's a proper latte! I made this using our Nespresso Latissima+ machine, organic whole milk (this froths the best) and a Vanilio capsule. A lot of you guys advised me that drinking milk before bed might help my heartburn...now I know coffee is supposed to have the opposite effect but these lattes are very light & since I've been drinking one a day for the past couple of days my heartburn has almost completely gone away! Tonight my milky drink was accompanied by some Cadbury's fingers...ugh, I forgot how good these were!

That's what I ate today - what did you have? Feel free to link your WIAW in the comments below :)
