Beauty Tuesday: Ballerina Sparkle Nails

After Christmas I started to grow a bit sick of the darker vampy colours on my nails so this week I chose a ballet pink & sparkle to freshen them up a bit! I chose Barry M's nail paint in Ballerina which is a very pretty light pink, and then finished it off with an aquarium nail effect in Atlantis on my ring fingers. For my base coat, I used Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength nail hardener and Barry M's Basecoat Topcoat & Nail Hardener as a top coat. (You would think I have nails of steel by now...unfortunately not!) Then to ensure they would dry quickly I applied some Essence Express Dry Drops to each finger. This is a total life-saver by the way...I really recommend it!

This mani held up well for about 4 days before chipping. I took this picture on day three so you can probably tell they're not perfectly fresh but I was happy with how long they lasted! What's your current go-to nail colour at the moment? Are you still rocking the darker shades or are you looking forward to spring pastels??

  5. Loving the ballerina pink! I've been wearing a lot of darker shades recently as well and finally upgraded to a bright red. We've gotta brighten things up some how... I'm already sick of winter!

  8. I am currently sporting Mint with Purple Sparkles on my accent nail. I am loving it! However, its making me quite hungry for Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream.

On another note, how do we find out the kids sizes to send them clothes? Me and my sister always see super cute stuff we want to send them but we don't know what size.

  15. I have the exact same pink nail polish and it's such a gorgeous colour! It really calls out for spring and sun. I haven't been brave enough yet to wear pastels on my nails because it's still so cold outside, but I think I will do soon - slowly getting sick of winter, too, and cannot wait for the first days of spring :)

  17. I had no idea you could actually buy stuff to make nail polish dry faster, that's something I most definitely need. I remember reading on Pinterest that 'A woman is at her most vulnerable when waiting for her nail polish to dry' and it's so true, lol.
My go-to is (and pretty much always has been) black. I tend to go for a turquoise colour for about a fortnight in the Summer and then it's back to black. I guess it's a bit of a comfort blanket shade.

  18. Hi Anna! This is a fun look - I'm in the US and I wish I had access to the Barry M line because I went on their website and though we definitely have TONS of nail polish brands here, Barry M's colors and glitters look fresh and new to me. I had been wearing a deep dark burgundy color for the holidays but like you, I want something lighter now. I recently painted my nails a beige color and then applied a sheer gold sparkle on top (the shiny bits are super fine) and am loving the results. I've never done an accent nail but I'm working up to it!

  19. Hi Anna. I love reading your blog and watching yours and jonathans videos. I have a little boy Mason who is just gone 3 months and love watching the similarities between him and Eduardo.
I was just wondering what is the name of the youtube channel Emilia watches with all the songs? I think Mason would like that too.

  28. I'm in the same boat, over the vampy colors. Typically my go to color is some sort of pink. To me, it just "goes" with everything more or less. Today however I went a little bold and I'm sporting Butter London's Blagger.
