New Camera Fun

I originally bought this camera as a Christmas present for my sister but my mum got her the same thing...instead of going back and returning it I decided to keep it for myself! It's the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 - of course I got it in pink. Today was the first time I took it out of its box and used it. I have come to the conclusion that these are actually pretty cool! Aside from the fact that the film is ridiculously expensive (I think it works out at about £3 a picture!), I love how the photos come out and they have that vintage look, like an Instagram shot but in "real life" form. Jonathan loves how they look on our fridge! Here are the three snaps we took today. Emilia & I were wearing matching velour tracksuits...I mean how much classier can you get. Also, if you are having a hard time getting your toddler to pose for pictures I recommend investing in one of these OR painting your own camera pastel pink. I think Emilia believed that this was a magical toy camera because I've never seen her give such a cheesy grin before! She was so pleased with herself!

  3. SO COOL ANNA! I saw a post of yours or maybe Jonathan's on Instagram about this photo today and looked it up... I'm in love! I found it on Amazon and definitely want the pink as well. The film is expensive though. On Amazon if you buy it in a set of 2pks it's $19/US. That's about $1 a photo--take them wisely, I guess! I think it's worth it though, you get it immediately. I take dozens of photos and never print them. I need this in my life!

  5. I think it was a pretty good idea to keep the camera for yourself :) I'd love to have some of these pictures with that vintage look. Oh and yes, Emilia grins like a Chesire cat (excuse me, I'm from Germany and I don't know whether you're able to understand it. I tried to translate it, but it sounds ridiculous and totally wrong). Whatever, great post and I'm definitely looking forward to read more :) Greetings from one of your friendliest friends.

  6. I have an instamatic camera(from years ago) but it is not a mini. These tiny pictures are adorable and great for displaying! I also love the "pink" color as well. Thanks for sharing it with us and also the pics!! Take great care! Xx

  7. I have been wanting to buy this for SO LONG! I love the way the pictures look. Like you say, just as a "real life" Instagram shot. What has been holding me back is the price. I agree it's quite expensive. Maybe for a special occasion.. I think they are great mementos to have. You took some great pictures!!

  9. I regularly invest in disposable cameras because I love the 'old' look of the pictures. Some of my favourite photographs are random shots collected from the counter at the Boots film-developing desk.

And, my god, Emilia is cutest little girl ever.
