Big Walkies

I realise you've all seen this outfit before and I definitely need to get some new pieces into my spring/summer wardrobe but I LOVE these pink trousers, especially when the sun is shining! I bought them in a tiny Fiorucci boutique in Capri right before getting pregnant with Eduardo! The pink flats are also favourites of mine - they were really affordable from ASOS about 4-5 years ago. My jumper is from Jack Wills (last summer) and my bag is a very old ChloĆ© Paddington. The sunnies are by Gucci and were an anniversary present last September!

Yesterday we visited our nearest RSPCA animal shelter which was both a heartbreaking and eye-opening experience. I've visited dog shelters before, as we have supported PAWS in Ireland for many years...so I've become a bit better at dealing with it (meaning I don't bawl my eyes out the entire time!) but it's still upsetting, especially the cruelty cases. One that stood out to me the most was this absolutely beautiful labradoodle who was cowering in farthest corner of his kennel, looking completely petrified. The fear & hurt in his eyes reduced me to tears - I just don't understand why anybody would harm an animal, it doesn't make sense to me :(

Having said all of that what really impressed me yesterday were the conditions of the shelter and the way the RSPCA operate their business. Everything was so organised, clean and efficient...the animals were extremely well looked after by the staff and volunteers and I'm so proud & happy to be supporting such a great charity. I'm excited to announce that we are going to be officially attending the RSPCA's Big Walkies event in Alexandra Park in London on the 31st of May! Jonathan & I will be there with all six of our dogs so if you would like to meet us (or them!) please register here! We would love to meet you and your pooches :) I will be smuggling as many puppies as possible into my handbag...only joking. Kind of.

After our RSPCA visit we went to Valentina for a yummy Italian lunch and I had the most amazing panettone bread & butter pudding! It was kind of like French toast, made with lots of egg and topped with a marmalade glaze. Of course the words "warm" and "served with vanilla ice-cream" are what really won me over!! This is why we go to the gym, ladies! So we can justify panettone pudding! ;)

Eduardo on the other hand, ate absolutely no pudding yesterday. Definitely not a chocolate one at any rate! Don't you just love how they always feel the need to rub their food-covered hands all over their hair THE VERY DAY after you wash it. Lovely.

  1. I've been upset in the past too, visiting animal shelters is bittersweet. I wish I could make the Alexandra Park in London but it's just not doable at the moment.
Oh and I love those pink trousers, you look lovely as always. xx

  7. I feel you Anna, if I see someone harming an innocent animals (no matters if it's a dog or a pig or whatever) I break down crying! :( You should really watch the documentary "Earthlings", it's on YT, it opened my eyes about how cruel we humans are to our little friends!
Also, it's so amazing that you are supporting dog shelters! <3

  8. Hi, I think it is great you are supporting a charity like this as they do so much for animals especially dogs. However my mum works for a local charity who are constantly receiving animals, particularly kittens. When they get in touch with the rspca they tell them to let the kittens die as thats what they would do because they get too many kittens. Whilst they are a good charity just makes you think :( x

I wish I could come to the Big Walkies event! I'm such an animal lover and I really love to support initiatives like this.. but unfortunately it's a bit impossible to come over all the way from Belgium with exams and stuff! Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful time ^^

  11. Always a classic - the babies always put their food in their hair! You look lovely Anna, and although I don't have any pets, it's horrible to see people mistreat animals

  12. I really like how you're not wearing something new all the time - you buy pieces you love and get a lot of wear out of them. I've seen comments saying how materialistic you've become but you are the least materialistic youtuber in my opinion. Regularly see Jonathan, Emilia and Eduardo in the same clothes too. Love your videos x

  13. Hey Anna, love your blog! I agree, its quite heartbreaking to think what these animals have been through, due to no fault of their own! =( How does someone hurt an animal let alone even think about doing it?! I think its such a cool thing to team up with the rspca. I couldn't think of a better cause for 10 pounds to go towards, helping animals who don't have a permanent home and especially those that have been through abuse and such. <3 I wish I could fly over and meet everyone!!! What a rare opportunity to meet Albi, Sina and the gang and the four of you!! I absolutely adore them and look forward to seeing them in the vlogs. Hope the rspca walkies goes well (can't imagine it going any other way) =) -Much love, Misha

  16. That's cool that you support your local RSPCA, they get so much bad press and I don't understand it. We got one of our cats from Cats Protection (she was dumped on a campsite). Her sister was having to go to a sort of kitty rehab because she was just so terrified of people, so I hate to think what must have happened to her.
    I love the pink jeans!

  18. I think it is awful how some of these little ones are treated. We sometimes do the shelter to walk the dogs as we can't have our own!
Have fun at the dog walk!
