Farm Shop Playdate!

Since moving here last summer I've found it quite hard to make other mummy friends, mostly because Emilia & Eduardo aren't at school yet and I don't leave the house that often (though I'm making more of an effort now!). I've also never really been the mum & baby/toddler group kind of person and although a lot of people have recommended that I do that sort of thing it's just not something I'm interested in. I did meet a lovely mum at our local playground a few months ago and we recently discovered we go to the same nail salon AND gym. She has an almost 2 year old little girl called Lily so we decided to meet up for a playdate! Luckily she knows all the best places for children and recommended this amazing farm shop/café with an outdoor play area for the kids. They had the most DELICIOUS scones and even though it was only 10:30 in the morning I couldn't pass these up...clotted cream is my weakness!!

Emilia with her new "best friend" Lily whom she's only met twice in her life but insists that they are besties...so cute, ha ha ha! These two had a blast together though unfortunately it wouldn't stop raining so they didn't get a chance to make use of the play area or sandpit outside and poor Eduardo was a bit upset to be confined to his highchair...hopefully next time will be better weather! Emilia's Snoopy jumper that she's wearing here is from Zara, her grey skinny jeans are H&M and her wellies are from Jojo Maman Bébé. We had such a lovely day despite the weather - it's really nice to find friends when you move to a new place, even if it did almost take me a year!!

This is what I wore yesterday...all from Whistles! I love navy and stripes so this outfit is basically my dream, ha ha! The jumper is a lightweight knit with zips at the sides and the trousers are quite high-waisted cropped ones that are a nice thick material but unfortunately attract all kinds of fluff and hair. You know the kind...it's a love/hate relationship!

And here are my two babies looking far too grown up for my liking! :( They are so sweet together. Emilia took Eduardo by the hand and they did almost a full walk around her room! He is so close to walking on his own but not quite there yet. Eduardo's jumper is from H&M (this is one of my favourites of his...it's a gorgeous soft quilted cotton) and his leggings are Zara Baby.

Hope you're all having a great week! I can't believe it's already May...where does the time go?!

  1. Aww this is so cute!! I'm the same I don't enjoy leaving the house and the past four weeks have been hellish with me not feeling well and having recently started a YouTube channel and blog it couldn't of happened at a worse time! No one wants to hear if you are ill and I am struggling to write blogs and film (using my iPhone to film) haha 😂 but reading your blogs and watching old videos make me feel a bit better 😋

I have to google clotted cream(?) because I have never heard that term before. However, those scones look so delicious! Thanks for sharing with us & hope you have a great weekend!!!

  3. I moved about two years ago and I have finally found some friends as well! It is hard when you are in a new place and out of your comfort zone. Emilia and her new friend are adorable and the same goes for Eduardo!

  5. Eduardo looks like he will walk sometime during the next week!!! Love your blue striped top and outfit. I usually go for white and blue stripes too. And, scones with jam and coffee? Yes, please! Any time of the day! My favorite. My mum used to make scones and they would be hot from the oven waiting for us after school. I should make them for my kids soon, thanks for the idea!
Love your posts! they are sweet and cozy! :)

  6. I'm so happy for you Anna! It's really hard to meet people nowadays, especially when you work from home. I'm in the same boat, so I totally get it.. I love staying home with my animals and working, but it can be difficult to meet new people. Also my goodness, Emilia's shirt is simply PERFECT! Snoopy has always been my favorite cartoon character.. I just love it and it looks so cute on her! Have a great week :)

  8. It has been almost two years since we have moved to a much bigger city (Houston) and I am still getting the hang of it. I hate big cities but I think I need to start exploring the city I am living in. I guess I hoped that we would move back to the hill country but things have been going well in the big city that it doesn't make sense to move back just yet. I think its time I start making an effort and get out of the house more.

Emilia and Eduardo are so adorable!! I am obsessed with navy and white stripe tops. I have way too many and my husband makes fun of me because I can spot them a mile away. I have to have any navy and white stripe top I see.

  17. Im so sorry to hear you have found it hard to make friends since moving to Surrey.
I live about 15 minutes from you. My daughter is 3.5yrs old and my son is a week younger than Eduardo. We spend alot of time at Godstone Farm, Priory Farm and sometimes Reigate Park.
Let me know if you ever fancy arranging a playdate :-) xx

  21. It's so nice to see that you have made a friend. Hopefully she introduces you to her other friends, who have kids and you eventually have a circle of close friends. I feel your pain though. I've literally lived here my whole life and with having children and growing, developing and getting jobs I've found I have zero social life. Those scones look amazing, I can see why they are your weakness :) x

  22. Ohhh the mummy friend making, that shit is exhausting! I'm hoping once my boys start school I can find a few mums but right now I'll just stick with my friends I have, moms or not :) I can't get over how much Emilia and Eduardo look like twins!
