Babies are not machines and baby books are not manuals.

The advice is abundant in the New Contented Little Baby Book; some of it was good for us and some of it was bad... after all, only in religion do you have to agree completely with a book :D

My wife wrote a review on the new contented little baby book outlining the good and the bad (for us) at The New Contented Little Baby Book

p.s.

I'm hungry now because of the photo of that Bankok bagel :D
Kids Nookhttp://kids-nook.com[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-215263674915115719.post-25837681597341495732012-12-18T15:41:47.753+00:002012-12-18T15:41:47.753+00:00Congrats on your baby! I advise u not to freak out over nap times, most importantly is duration of the nap and the bedtime retiual, my baby has been sleeping through the night since he was around 8-10 weeks and i've been following tracey hogg's book " on becoming a baby whisperer"

Btw am 25 yes old too. This blog clearly does not make you happy so why read it?!
Emelia is lovely and Anna, like all new mam's, is figuring things out as she goes. No one is perfect and few people get it right instantly! Your doing a brilliant job Anna, don't stress about a routine, my boy didn't have one till he was seven months old and he is just fine. And as for the baby swing if it makes her happy then put her in and don't you dare feel guilty. She will learn a lot just from looking at her surroundings and being talked to when she is in it.
Chin up, you'll never please everyone! My daughter was in a fantastic routine and slept great as a result. However I was a bit too strict with it and I would have a meltdown if it went askew. I suffered from anxiety a bit as a result. I'm a lot more relaxed on my second. Once they have a rough idea of what is coming next then it generally makes for a content baby. Having some sort of a shedule will give you a bit of time back too and it's great. Stick with it but allow for hiccups. Don't be too hard on yourself. Being a Mammy is brilliant and very rewarding but it is bloody hard work. You get no lunch break, no coffee break and in time you will no toilet break alone! Don't start doubting yourself or being hard on yourself. There are plenty of people out there only too willing to put you down and tell you you are doing everything wrong when it comes to babies. Stick to your guns. Mammy knows best xxAnonymous[email protected]
