The Skinny Belt

Sorry I haven't made a video in about a week's time...I was sick all of last week with this awful neck/back pain and I have no idea why or what it was!  It just kind of disappeared about 2 days ago.  Before that it was so painful and I couldn't get to sleep most nights   I wonder what caused it?

This is a pretty casual outfit, as opposed to the last one I wore featuring a skinny belt with a pencil skirt!  Here's what I'm wearing:

Brown leather skinny belt from ASOS
Navy blue cardigan from Benetton
Light blue shirt from Kookai
A blue vest underneath
Brown leather vintage Nina Ricci watch
Gold disc earrings from Diamonds & Pearls
Navy blue ballet flats from Accessorize

I'm always being asked to write what make-up I'm wearing for the day but I never do it because it's always the same!  If you want to see my routine, check out my Updated Face Tutorial video...that's basically what I do everyday.  Today the only difference is that I am using Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick, which was given to me by my good friend Cynthia. What do you think of this outfit and lipcolour?  Leave a comment, let me know!

YOU Magazine Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek from my photoshoot with YOU Magazine.  The photographer who I worked with on the shoot, Adrian Heffernan very kindly sent me a few shots and I'm so excited!  A lot of you have been asking when the issue I'm in will be available...at this point I really cannot say but I've been told it'll be in about 3 weeks time.  I will let you guys know in a video before it comes out though so don't worry.

You can check out more of Adrian's work here.

Interview with Georgina Heffernan

Hey everyone!

I didn't want to leave you guys without at least a new update blog post, as I know I've been a bit lacking in the video department but I promise tomorrow I'll be uploading a very special video which I think you'll all like :)  Today was my photoshoot for You Magazine, and I had the pleasure of being interviewed and styled by one of Ireland's top fashion journalists and stylists, Georgina Heffernan.

We had an amazing shoot, which was on the beach and of course it featured my sweet little Albi!  He was so great, he's a total natural in front of the camera!  My hair and make-up was done at my apartment and you should have seen Albi's reaction to two women primping and fussing at his mama's face/hair...he looked really worried, it was SO cute!  He just didn't understand why two strangers arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning and began putting hot rollers and false lashes on me - it was all very bizarre!

You can see what my hair and make-up was like in the picture above of me with Georgina...this was taken after the photoshoot when we arrived back at my apartment to finish off the interview.  She was so lovely and had such a warm personality!  She also pulled some beautiful pieces for me, which I'm sure you'll like...stay tuned for tomorrow's behind-the-scenes video! (thanks Jonathan.)

The Waist Belt

So today I spent the entire morning cleaning because my photo-shoot is tomorrow and the crew are coming here before-hand and it's where I'm getting hair and make-up done.  I need to pretend like my house is sparkling clean all the time...ha ha!  I'm also feeling a lot better today and my neck pain seems to be going away.  The sad thing is that it's raining today.  Boo hoo!  I'm sorry I didn't film anything yesterday, I literally went back to bed right after we shot yesterday's photos.  I hope you all had a lovely Patrick's Day!

Today I'm wearing this cute little dress I got about 2 years ago from a boutique in the city where my mom lives...the boutique is now gone which makes me very sad because they sold some gorgeous pieces there.  A lot of their stuff was by a brand called Saint Tropez, which is one of my favourites.  I have quite a few Saint Tropez items and they  are all amazing quality and I love them.

The thick waist belt is a wardrobe staple of mine, if you have an hourglass figure it really works as it highlights the smallest part of your body.  This particular belt is from ASOS.com and it's not the easiest belt to wear, as it's quite a statement piece so it only works well with simple pieces...such as, this Saint Tropez dress!  Generally speaking though, I don't love turtle necks on me because I have a bigger bust but hey, sometimes rules are meant to be broken!

A few people were asking what shoes I wore yesterday...well I wore the same ones I'm wearing right now, these grey wool and patent ballet pumps from Zara.  I <3 them because they're not completely flat as they have a tiny wedge heel so they give you a little bit more height and look great with shorter skirts!

What I'm wearing:

Grey turtle-neck dress from Saint Tropez
Black leather ASOS waist belt with gold discs
Metal gold and silver bangle from my mom
Gold stud earrings from Accessorize
Grey and black patent ballerinas from Zara
Black opaque tights from American Apparel

So there you go, another outfit of the day post.  I'm really enjoying making these and I've actually sort of gotten back into blogging, it's fun!  Also I'm on Chictopia now too, so check me out there if you have an account as well.

The Pencil Skirt

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I was going to go to the parade but I'm still feeling rotten because of this stupid neck pain and I don't want it to get any worse so I actually stayed in bed for most of the day!  In fact  I just woke up from a nap...  I am determined to be better by the end of this week!  I still managed to get dressed up this morning when I thought there might be a chance I would go in and here's my outfit.

You can see what my hair looks like much better in natural daylight as well...I love it!  And I'm so glad to hear that you all like it too!  I think your natural colour is most likely gonna suit you best, that's just how it is!

What I'm wearing:

Pencil skirt from ASOS
Top from Zara
Tights from Oasis
Earrings from Accessorize
Grey ballet flats from Zara
Bracelet from Mexx
Skinny belt from ASOS

I love the colour of the skirt, it's like an extremely pale blue.  Pencil skirts are best for hugging in your curves and high-waisted ones like these highlight your waist!  I styled my hair yesterday, with my GHD and this is what it looked like in the morning.

Back to Blonde...Kind Of

Today I went back to blonde...I liked the red, but I have a big photoshoot on Friday so I decided to go back to my roots, literally!  I went to my local hair salon and since the underneath of most of my hair had actually almost gone back to its natural dark blonde colour, I decided to keep it that shade and add some lighter blonde highlights.  It took hours...I have a LOT of hair!

I am so sorry the lighting in these pictures is terrible, I will try and show you better tomorrow in natural daylight but for now, this is what I have to work with as it's almost 8pm and it was evening by the time I got home!  So what do you think?  I absolutely love it...I don't think I have ever been happier leaving a salon, my stylist did an amazing job!  It's a pity you can't see it very well in this lighting but it's basically just a dark ashy blonde with lighter streaks going through it.  Love it!  Let me know what you think!

Calf Boots

I'm sorry I haven't done an outfit of the day post in a while, I was really busy the last few days and just didn't get any time to take pictures.  Today I filmed a video on college fashion and this was one of my outfits.  I used to wear this all the time when I was interning at Ralph Lauren...during the time when I was working in the Creative Department offices, so jeans were acceptable.  I love this scarf, it used to be my mama's and it is SO worn and torn (literally) but I think that adds something to it.  This is my favourite way to dress up a plain white shirt.

What I'm wearing:

Scarf from my mom
White shirt from Mexx
Jeans from Zara
Boots from Dune
Tank top from ASOS
Bracelet from my friend Gina
Earrings from Accessorize
My top tips for dressing for college are:

1. Lots of costume jewellery.  This can really change your outfits, and it's so cheap!
2. Wear different scarves.  I love square scarves in particular.
3. Flat boots.  These are gonna keep you comfy and warm around campus.
4. Leggings.  Again these are sooo cheap and look great worn with leg warmers, boots and long shirts!

What do you like to wear to college?

The Boyfriend Blazer

This outfit of the day/video is actually yesterday's but I was so busy I didn't get a chance to upload...sorry.  My days are getting more and more hectic as time goes on - I'm finding it hard to fit everything in!  I wish there were more hours in a day, sometimes I wish we didn't need any sleep...what a waste of time sleep is!  I'm joking...I love my bed.

So today I wore look #3 from my "Rainy Days" video, even though it was far from a rainy day...this outfit was still suitable for Irish weather so I went with it.  I love the boyfriend blazer!  It's such a versatile colour and goes with almost everything too.  Those boots have stuck with me for years and can you believe I bought that burgundy top when I was 12?!  I still remember when I got it, I think I had seen Jennifer Lopez wearing something similar and I had to have it.  I even bought some silver hoopy earrings to wear with it - I think I was trying to recreate her look.

What I'm wearing:

Vero Moda jacket
Warehouse top
Cheap Monday pants from ASOS.com
Faith riding boots
Red Herring necklace
Bangles from my friend Gina (LovePeaceandLipgloss on YT)
Chloe Paddington bag
