Preparing The Base!

I was recently sent some skincare products along with a new foundation to review on my blog/channel.  I've been diligently testing these cosmetics for the past 3 weeks or so and am happy to report that the results are great.  My skin feels lovely and smooth, I haven't been getting break-outs (apart from the occasional hormonal spot!), and even the foundation has been a great success.  These products are from a website Coco Beau, which is based in the UK.  The skincare items are from their Embryolisse line.  Here's a breakdown of how I use them to prepare the perfect base for my make-up in the mornings!

The first product I use is the Exfoliating Care Cream.  I don't use this every morning, maybe once or twice a week.  It's an exfoliating scrub which contains tiny micro-beads which cleanse deep into the skin and remove any impurities or dead skin cells.  I like that this is not harsh, so it doesn't feel like you're grating anything against your skin.  I usually apply this in the shower, and my skin feels very fresh and awake afterwards.  A full-size 60ml tube of this exfoliator costs £20.

After that, I apply the Foaming Cream-Milk Cleanser.  I usually do this in the shower also, as it foams when you wet it.  This feels very soft and gentle as it is soap free, contains almond oil and is suited to any skin type, including sensitive skin.  It leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished and cleansed.  A full size 200ml tube of this costs £15.

This is my favourite of the skincare line, the Lait-Creme Concentre 24 Hour Miracle Cream.  Loved by many make-up artists, this moisturizer both soothes and hydrates the skin without leaving it feeling greasy.  I will certainly be repurchasing this as it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth!  This can also be used after shaving as it has soothing/cooling properties.  A 30ml version of this moisturizer costs £10 and a larger 75ml version costs £16.

After prepping my face with the Embroylisse skincare products, I used the FACE atelier Ultra Foundation in the shade #3 Wheat.  I absolutely love this foundation.  In fact, when I wore it for the first time in one of the daily vlogs I got so many compliments on my make-up.  It really gives a beautiful glow to your skin and it lasts all day.  I applied this in the morning and it stays on perfectly until late that night.  This foundation is said to be good for mature skin as well, because it doesn't sink into any fine lines or wrinkles.  It gives a youthful glow without looking shiny, as it is oil-free.  The shade Wheat was perfect for my skin, not too light not too dark and a little bit of this product goes a long way.  I did not have to apply much of it at all to get a really flawless, dewy base.  I will definitely be repurchasing this, as although I love my Bare Minerals make-up, this is the perfect foundation for an evening look or night-time look when you need a fuller coverage.  A full size version of this foundation costs £32.

One product that I got, which I do not use in the mornings but rather at night, is the Cleansing Water.  This removes all make-up including waterproof mascara and eye-liner.  I use this to remove everything from my face, using a cotton ball.  What I loved about this is that it has witch-hazel in it, one of my favourite scents as my dad used to use it after shaving :)  A full size 250ml bottle of this cleansing water is £17.

After I applied the foundation, I used my Bare Minerals concealer in Summer Bisque under the eyes and to cover any blemishes on my forehead, around my nose and on my chin.  And voila!  A perfect base is prepared :)

All in all, I do recommend these products however the moisturizer and foundation were clear winners for me.  Have you tried any Embryolisse skincare products before?  If so, what were your thoughts?  And have you ever sampled the FACE atelier Ultra Foundation?  Let me know what you think!

Stay Stylish!
xoxo
