Evening & Party Dress Styling

Today I have a very special post for you guys, that I've been so excited about doing for a while.  I realise that I haven't ever done a proper "evening/party dress" video except for this body shape one which was quite wintery and perhaps not as formal.  I generally tend to feature more casual/everyday clothing because, well that's more practical for both you and me!  But of course knowing what to wear on a night/evening out is just as important.  These two dresses are completely different from one another, but I feel they both illustrate my "going out" style very well!

And here's the exciting part: the items featured in this post (minus the shoes) are all from Rodeo Drive Boutique which is owned by one of my best friends from primary school (elementary, for all you Americans ;) so we go way back!  We were besties when we were 12 years old.  Her name is Sarah, she's a makeup artist and I am so happy for her that she has opened her own boutique in Wishaw, in the UK.  I love her style so I was really excited to show you guys some of the lovely dresses she has there!

This is dress number one, and my absolute favourite!  Sarah sent me this dress because she's a very attentive and lovely girl who has noted my obsession with navy blue, hahaha!  This has quickly become one of my must-have pieces in my wardrobe.  It's a 60's style shift dress with scalloped ruffles that are tiered all the way down and across the back too.  It's a mini-dress which ties with a little bow at the back and has a zipper up the side.  I love its simplicity and the fact that it doesn't make me look like a stuffed sausage as many of these kinds of tiered styles do!

I'm wearing it with simple diamante studs which are also from Rodeo Drive Boutique and navy blue kitten heels from New Look.

Dress number two is entirely different but just as flattering.  I think this is one of those dresses that looks better on than off!  Seeing it on a hanger doesn't do it justice as it fits perfectly to a woman's body!  This is one of my favourite styles because it's so flattering; the dress that looks like a high-waisted skirt with a top tucked into it.  I own about three or four of these types and love them to death.  The top half of this has a round neck, 3/4 sleeves and a beautiful sequin and beaded peacock feather detail.  It's made of a jersey material, and has a defined waist band.  The skirt is a much lighter silky fabric with lots of pretty ruffling and a black underskirt to prevent it from being see-through!

I'm wearing this with some turquoise jewel bow earrings that bring out the blues in the pattern of the dress.  These are also from Rodeo Drive Boutique, and the shoes are black leather peep-toes from Saint Tropez.

All of these items are available to purchase in-store (if you live anywhere near Wishaw!) OR by mail order!  Check out the boutique on Facebook where Sarah keeps her stock updated regularly.  You can contact her by phone with your order and she will ship it out to you on the same day.  At the moment she is doing a special offer of free delivery for all of the UK but it only lasts for the next 5 days!  She is such a sweet girl and good friend of mine, so please don't hesitate to contact her with any questions you may have about sizing/colours/shipping etc.  I am confident that she will take great care of you :)

Stay Stylish!
xoxo

Disclaimer: These items were kindly sent to me for consideration to review.  I was not paid for my blog post, nor am I affiliated with the brand in anyway.  My honest opinion, as always :)
