Sedona Lace 88 Warm Palette and Brush Set

Whenever I wear a really dramatic makeup look (like yesterday's!), the following day I always feel like "taking a break".  I think it's important to let your skin breathe once in a while and I definitely have my share of no-makeup days!  But today I decided to keep things as natural as possible.  And what better time to try out my Sedona Lace 88 Warm Eyeshadow Palette?!

This is an absolutely beautiful eyeshadow palette.  It contains 88 neutral shades of brown/taupes/golds/bronze and some plummy colours as well.  When I first opened it up I felt like I was in heaven!  This is my idea of the perfect makeup: natural, simple and very easy to wear.

Here is a full view of all the shadows.  They are a mixture of shimmer and matte colours and the individual eyeshadows are smaller than the ones in the 120 Pro Palette (2nd Edition).  Also, this comes in a shiny palette whereas the 120 is matte.  One of the best things about this is the price.  It's super affordable at €19.95 and you get a huge variety of great quality eyeshadow shades.  After trying this out, I can honestly say that the quality is just as good as the 120 palette and the shimmer shades are extremely pigmented.

The look I created today was extremely natural and wearable.  I think this will quickly become one of my staples!

I used a shimmery champagne colour (1) all over the lids and a shimmery cream shadow (2) on the brow-bone.

I then used this matte light brown (3) in the outer corners and blended it into the crease.

I lined my upper and lower waterline using The Body Shop's Eye Definer in brown and smudged this shimmery bronze colour with a pencil brush on the upper lashline instead of eyeliner.  Finished off with two coats of mascara and a slick of Avon's Hollywood Lights lipgloss in Celebrity Pink and here we are!

It's the perfect natural, everyday look and it took my all of 5 minutes to do :)

Something else I've been really loving recently is the Sedona Lace 12 Piece Professional Makeup Brush Set.  I used it in my Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial but didn't get a chance to properly review it on here.

This is what the brush roll looks like.  You can also get it in pink!

And here is what it looks like inside.  You get 12 professional makeup brushes, for both face and eyes.  I am so thrilled to finally own a full brush set!  And I think it's amazing that companies like Sedona Lace are making these kinds of brushes that are much more affordable than MAC.  Not all of us can justify spending that amount of money on just ONE MAC brush, let alone a whole set.  This 12 piece set costs €49.95 and is available on the Sedona Lace website in both black and pink.  The brush quality is exactly the same as any of my other makeup brushes that I own (Dior, MAC's Holiday Sets) and feel very soft, with no shedding except for the stippling brush (one or two hairs).  Having said that, I also own the MAC 187SE and that sheds like crazy...it's horrible!  And this one is so much better than that.

Here's a closer look at the eye brushes.

And the face ones.

As you can probably tell I've been using these non-stop since I got them!  I would have cleaned them for this little "photoshoot" but I decided to leave them the way they are...at least this way you guys know I really have been using them! ;)

I also have a promo code to share with you guys.  Just enter THESTYLEDIET and get $4 off your purchase at SedonaLace.com!

Stay Stylish!

  4. The MAC 187SE from holiday sets is nothing like the actual 187 brush. Look into it, they're made entirely differently. The brushes from the holiday sets are very poor quality and you couldn't pay me to own them, but the full sized brushes are worth every penny.

  7. Ooo I really love this. It's natural with the champagne coloring but I think it has a bit of a fun apricot hint to it too!

  11. Hi! I was thinking of buying the palette, it looks good, but the shipping ($15.92) costs almost as much as the actual palette ($19.95)! :O
