Yesterday we spent the whole day at Longleat Safari Park with this beauty Zoe & her not so bad other half Alfie. It was actually Zoe's suggestion as she had already been and thoroughly recommended it. Although the weather started out quite wet & windy and by the end of the day we looked pretty bedraggled, we had an amazing time!
One of the coolest things we got to do was feed & pet the penguins who were so cute, even though some of them tried to bite! Emilia was not phased by them at all...she is pretty brave and they make a lot of noise when they're hungry!! We also fed some birds nectar which was a little bit scarier as they land all over you and at one point I think I had two nesting in my hair. Thank god nobody pooed, that's all I'll say!!
Another incredible part of the day was seeing these big cats up close & personal! We took a safari where you can drive right up to the animals and we heard sometimes they interact with the car/truck. Unfortunately when we went, all the monkeys were asleep and cuddling (so cute!) so we didn't get many interactions. But the tigers looked so beautiful!
Before going home we hung out for a bit in the playground where Eduardo & Emilia burned some energy prior to the long drive home! Eduardo was in his element, especially when he realised he was one of the only children left in the centre so he practically had the whole place to himself! Have you ever been to Longleat and if so what was your favourite bit? If not, which would be your favourite animal to see?! I think mine were the wolves...even though we didn't get very close to them they all remind me of our dogs and I want to cuddle them!!
I watched your vlog today of your adventure to Longleat. It looks like an amazing place to visit. My favorite part watching was seeing the anteaters! However, you made me lol when those birds landed on top of your head!!! I can tell the kids had a great time! Oh yea, Jonathan also!!!! Your photos are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us and as always have a great weekend ahead!
ReplyDeleteI love your colours! :) I love the way you managed to match your outfit with the location!!

ReplyDeleteI go to longleat every year with my Husband and Friends, the best part is the Monkeys but you have to go through them at the start/early between 10am - 12 to see them awake and jumping over the cars, you can get so close to them and it's cute! (Zoe.R, 25,Hampshire) Massive fan, watch your videos everyday for the last 4 years!! Addicted I would say
ReplyDeleteLongleat is amazing, especially for kids. My one year old (she's a couple of weeks younger than eduardo) loves it there especially the penguins and meerkats. Luckily we live really close and get to go all the time. In fact we were supposed to go the afternoon you guys went but decided not to at the last minute due to the weather

I live in Buenos Aires and usually take my boys to a a similar place. I like the monkeys. You can sit on a bench and just look at how they behave. It's very interesting to see the similarities with people!! I love love love the picture of you and Emilia looking at the penguin and the penguin looking back at her. You look beautiful!

I've never been to Longleat (or a safari park) but it sounds like such a cool place! When I was very little, my parents took me to the zoo quite a lot but for some reason I would always fall asleep in my buggy as soon as we entered the zoo and wake up when we left, so my parents stopped taking me after a while haha. It's so weird because I've always found animals really fascinating!
ReplyDeleteGlad Emilia & Eduardo enjoyed themselves :)

ReplyDeleteI love Longleat and it looks like you all had a great time! When I go the safari is always one of my favourite bits, because of (like you said) getting to see the animals up close like that is just amazing! Eduardo & Emilia look so cute! :) You're probably lucky the monkeys were asleep when you went, as when I was last there, they ripped off the back windscreen water nozel off my car! Haha
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing experience for the kiddos! Getting to pet the penguins?? I think I would be more excited than the kids on that one; definitely looks like an amazing trip all around. Thank you for sharing!!
