Yesterday was Jonathan's book publication day which means The SacconeJolys and The Great Cat Nap is now available from all good bookshops across the UK and Ireland! The book tour starts tomorrow, which is super exciting yet also kind of stressful (trying to figure out logistics with the three children, dogs etc.) but one thing is for sure - I am SO proud of Jonathan! Writing a children's book and this entire project has been his dream for so long. He is truly a family man and watching him become a father has been one of the most special and rewarding experiences of my life. I am so thankful that he is my partner to raise our children with because unlike so many other men I know, he is a team player when it comes to bringing up our kids. Jonathan is one of the most hands-on dads you'll ever meet; we actually have to fight over who does the school runs as he feels left out if he doesn't do them! He will ALWAYS choose his family first over anything or anybody else and that is one of the things I love the most about him.

This is why I think this book is such a perfect fit for Jonathan because I know in my heart that he would never release a product or sell something that he didn't 100% believe in. I saw the whole process that went on behind closed doors while he worked on this book from coming up with the initial idea to choosing an illustrator and working together on getting each and every character exactly right. Seeing the book in its completed physical form is such an amazing experience when you know how much care, time & effort went into creating it.

Reading books to our children has always been a huge part of their night time routine since Emilia was a tiny baby. It doesn't matter what has happened during the day, the bedtime book is always something they can rely on and I feel that they look forward to that quality time with Mummy & Daddy. For me personally, the bedtime story is what replaced breastfeeding as I always drop the night time feed last after my babies turn 12 months. Reading a book to your little ones is such a lovely bonding experience and these are the memories our children will cherish forever.

If you do pick up a copy of The Great Cat Nap, let us know what you think of the story by tagging us on Twitter or Instagram and tell us who your favourite character is!

  14. You look stunning as always Anna! I’ve been following you and the vlogs for roughly around 2 years now and I can always count on you lot to make me smile, even if it is just for 15 minutes a day. One could only dream of a relationship and family like yours, you make it look so easy and seamless! This novel is a great achievement for Jonathan and for your whole family, something your children will remember forever and can physically hang onto for their wholes lives. You and Jonathan create so much magic for your children, from Christmas’ to birthdays, even to small things like the tooth fairy! I love seeing their small minds wander and explore. I can’t wait to see what else The Sacconejoly’s have in store, so congratulations! Have the best day Anna, you deserve it! X

  18. Now you both are published authors! I work in child development, in particular the development of early literacy. I love your commitment to reading aloud to your children, but appreciate you role modeling that ritual in your vlogs. I’m sure there are many more children reading stories with their parents because of you. Well done. I purchased a copy for my daughter and look forward to reading it with her. Thanks for sharing xx

  23. Yes its so important to read to children from birth. My son was reading fluently at 4 when he went to Kindy and I believe a big reason for that was because we read to him from a very early age at bedtime and nap times but anytime really. When he did go to kindy he came home complaining that they were teaching the ABC's in kindy. It was funny because he thought that was too basic for kindy!

  24. Congrats to Jonathan and good work in supporting and sharing in the little things like book signing (which looked huge and arduous but you guys killed it !) and still managing to mom and dog mom. I imagine this was a crazy time for you and hope you can enjoy the travel a bit and take in some changes of scenery and let hotel staff assist as much as possible with your family's needs so you can breathe. I personally would love to hear more about how you are managing your eating disorder after Alessia was born. I remember you saying that you feel less useful once they are born and a bit bigger, so I hope this time you feel like you have more purchase on your role as a cool person and not just as someone to be there for everyone else. You do things for body self care but hoping you do things for mind self care and emotional well being. Hugs and waves from Seattle friend. :)

  25. Hi Anna! I've been watching you all since when you were pregnant with Emilia and I can't believe how your lovely family has grown! I have adored going through each of your pregnancies 'with you'. I want to say that I think little Alessia's smile reminds me so much of yours when you were a little!! Each of the children have their distinct personalities and I love watching them develop and how you interact with them.

I want to say that watching your family vlogs and yours have helped me through an awful time and I want you to know that not only were they a welcome distraction but you and Jonathon have helped me TREMENDOUSLY by sharing your personal struggles. You have no idea how much - a truly heartfelt THANK YOU!!

I rarely comment but as long as I am here, would you mind saying where the lovely plush blanket is from your gorgeous dream bed? Others have said it is from John Lewis but I can't find it there or anywhere for that matter! I am in love with it and have been searching to no avail...

Anyway, BIG LOVE & HEARTFELT THANKS from New Jersey!
